Getting started
Install the app
Install Keepora: Subscriptions from the Shopify App Store and open it from Apps in your Shopify admin. The Dashboard shows a setup checklist that ticks itself off.
Check your payment provider
Subscriptions need Shopify Payments, PayPal Express or another gateway Shopify supports for subscriptions. If yours is missing, the checklist links to Settings → Payments.
Create your first plan
In Plans pick a preset, choose the products, delivery frequencies and discount. The live preview shows what shoppers will see.
Add the widget to your theme
On the Dashboard click Add to theme, then save in the theme editor. The Subscribe & save option appears on products with a plan and uses your theme’s fonts and button colour.
Review emails and the portal
Settings holds the customer emails, your brand colour and logo, and what customers may change themselves: skip, date, pause, frequency, swap, quantity and cancel.
Questions
Why doesn’t the subscribe widget show?
Check that the product is in a plan under Plans, and that the Keepora block is on your product template: Dashboard → Add to theme, then Save. On the Free plan the widget also hides once your first 100 subscription orders are used.
Which payment methods work for subscriptions?
Shopify Payments (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay) and the other gateways Shopify supports for subscriptions, like PayPal Express. Your store needs one of them turned on.
When are renewals charged?
On the date of each order, around 10:00 UTC. Customers get a reminder a few days before – you choose how many – with one-click Skip, Delay and Send now buttons.
What happens when a payment fails?
Keepora looks at the reason. Not enough funds: it retries around payday. Expired or removed card: the customer gets Shopify’s secure update link at once and it retries when they update. Temporary errors: it retries within the hour. You set what happens if the payment can’t be recovered.
How do customers change or cancel a subscription?
From the buttons in their emails, with no login, or in the customer portal. In Settings you choose what they can change. Before cancelling they pick a reason and see the offer you set for it in Retention.
How do plans and billing work?
Free includes your first 100 subscription orders in total. After that renewals keep running, but the widget hides until you upgrade. Growth ($49) covers 2,500 active subscribers, Pro ($99) 10,000 and Plus ($199) unlimited, each with a 14-day free trial. Yearly billing costs 10 months. There are no transaction fees, and Shopify handles the billing.
Can I move subscribers from another app?
Yes. Under Settings → Import subscribers, upload the CSV export from your current app. A dry run shows every row before anything is created, and customers keep the cards saved in Shopify. On Growth and above we can do the move for you.
What happens if I uninstall?
Shopify cancels your Keepora plan and Keepora stops charging renewals. The widget stops working. Shopify then asks us to delete your store’s Keepora data, about 48 hours later.
